Balabolka is a free tool to help proofread the text (in English) for users to listen to, with clear and precise tone.

The text on the screen can be stored as files WAV, MP3, MP4, OGG or WMA. The program can read the clipboard content, view the text from AZW files, AZW3, CHM, DjVu, DOC, EPUB, FB2, HTML, LIT, MOBI, ODT, PRC, PDF and RTF, custom fonts and color background color, control reading from the system tray or by hotkey.

Balabolka uses many different versions of Microsoft Speech API (SAPI), which allows the change of voice parameters including speed and altitude. The user can apply a special substitution list to improve the quality of voice pronunciation. This feature is really useful when you want to change the spelling of words.

Balabolka can store text synchronized external LRC files or in MP3 tags inside the audio files. When the file is run with the audio playback on a computer or digital audio player of the modern text is displayed synchronously (at the same way, as the singing bowls).
